Obioma UniversityThe academy for the nurse who owns their career

Live sessions: the hours that count as participatory.

A live case review with a nurse facilitator. You leave with a verified attendance record showing the date, the hours and the participatory hours — the facts NMC revalidation asks you to record.

This line shows the next session’s date, time and facilitator, read from our session registry — a date appears only once the facilitator, the time and the platform are all confirmed.

Why a live session, and not another download

To renew UK registration, an NMC registrant needs 35 hours of CPD over three years, and at least 20 of those hours must be participatory. Participatory means learning that involves interaction with another professional. A video course cannot give you that. A live session with a facilitator can.

The NMC does not prescribe or approve the content of your CPD — it leaves that choice to you, and asks you to keep a record of it. Our job is to run a session worth recording, and to hand you the record.

What happens in a session

What you get afterwards

A verified attendance record, not a marketing certificate. It states exactly what happened and nothing it cannot prove:

Those are the fields the NMC asks a registrant to record for each CPD activity. We give you the facts; you keep the record.

What this is not

Obioma is not an accredited institution and is not an approved CPD provider. We do not award CPD credits or contact hours, and we do not claim that any regulator has approved this session. We run the session, we record the hours honestly, and the nurse decides how it fits their portfolio.

Questions

Will this count towards my revalidation? The NMC does not approve or accredit individual CPD providers, and it does not prescribe which activities you record. If the session is useful to your practice, it is the kind of activity you record — and the record we issue contains the fields you need.

Can I watch a recording instead? A recording is useful for revision, but it is not participatory: there is no interaction with another professional, so it does not count towards the 20 participatory hours. Recordings are a review aid, never the source of the hour.

Is this NCLEX prep? It is the same method, applied live. The Clinical Judgment Measurement Model is how we run the scenario — useful if you are preparing for the NCLEX, and useful if you are already registered and want your judgment sharpened.

How much does it cost? Price is announced with each session date. Join the interest list and you will be told before it opens.
